gethealthy Made and froze some more of these morsels before we left for Mexico....so glad I did!! Pumpkin ‘Bread Cheese’ Chaffle with a smear of cream cheese and chopped pecans....SO much greatness!! Here’s how I made them. Two eggs, 1 cup shredded @carrvalley Bread Cheese, big squirt of stevia, spoonful of unsweetened canned pumpkin, dash of cinnamon and waffle up baby!! I waffle mine for four minutes on one side and then flip for an additional two. Enjoy! #hurryupfall ✌🏻❤️🎯

CONSISTENCY is what sets apart winners and quitters. A fit body and a healthy mind comes from being consisted throughout. You cannot just pay for the yearly membership fees and sit around drooling over useless stuff and visiting the centres just for some selfies and some other activities. You need to give it your all, EVERY SESSION that you're in the gyms or stadiums or whatever is your kinda place for exercises. Now at no point of time we're suggesting you to workout 7 days a week continuously for the rest of your life. All we're trying to tell is, when your workout is a part of your daily routine, it stops seeming like a burden and that's what is supposed to be the best mindset when you're passionate about the life a barbell gives you ❤

If you’re staying up all night binge watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia that would be the obvious culprit. If that’s the case turn off the tv and go to bed

If you’re getting adequate sleep here are some things that could lead to your exhaustion.

Are you super stressed? It could be wreaking havoc on your body. Prolonged stress can not only lead to physical exhaustion but emotional as well. Try getting in some workouts or try meditation.

Too much caffeine sounds like the opposite of being tired but it can happen. Caffeine increases alertness by interfering with certain chemical processes in the brain that regulate the sleep-wake cycle. And too much can make you feel like you’re crashing similar to crashing from sugar.

Fatigue can be a sign of dehydration as well. Even a mild dehydration can cause your body to work harder than normal and make you feel tired. So drink up 💧
:
Lack of food can make you tired. If you’re dieting chances are you may feel tired at some point especially if you cut out certain food groups. cough...cough... CARBS. It’s okay to have a little fatigue but if it becomes more often than not you may have restricted your calories a bit too much. Reevaluate and adjust your macros.

There could be plenty of other reasons but I thought these were glaring problems a lot of people have.

gethealthy This recipe actually came about by mistake. I tried to make an icing using my homemade coconut yoghurt. But my homemade coconut yoghurt came out smelling like 72 baby’s crapped themselves and left their diapers in the sun for like 3 weeks. Yes, it was that bad. So I had already baked this vegan coffee and chocolate cake from Deliciously Ella but had nothing to ice it with. Well, here you go. My Vegan Coffee and chocolate frosting. 🍰🍫

Ingredients:
1 can coconut milk
1/4 cup-1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 Tbsp instant coffee 
2 Tbsp liquid sweetener e.g. maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla essence .

Method:
1. Dissolve the instant coffee in about 2 tsp of boiling water and allow to cool 
2. Beat the coconut milk with an electric mixer until it has thickened quite a bit
3. Add the rest of your ingredients and mix until everything is combined 
4. Adjust your ingredients as needed. The cocoa powder I get out here isn’t very strong so I need quite a lot so make sure to taste as you go 
5.  Beat again to aerate the cream more 
6. Put the icing in the fridge and allow to set slightly. It should come out looking like chocolate mousse 
7. Make sure your cake is entirely cool before icing. I even stored my cake in the fridge as it’s very hot here in PSJ at the moment. When coconut cream gets too warm, it instantly goes watery so be careful.

As a fat person, I reject the idea of being complacent with my health. I am very well aware of how unhealthy my body is right now, and I’m trying to rectify this as I am making the necessary actions by fighting today’s standards that’s it’s ok to be obese when it’s not. I do my very best to live my life as active and healthy

gethealthy Another flashback today. Through my adult life I’ve been every size from size 8 to size 24. This pic was a couple years ago when I was at my most physically fit. I love the feeling of being strong, capable, and in shape. That feeling is what I am working to get again. I want to be able to run a half marathon, maybe even a marathon one day. I want to be able to hike up difficult mountain trails. I have been doing a lot better with my diet and exercise. My binge eating is still up and down, but not to the extremes it has been in the past. I am not sure if I’ll ever get back to this level of fitness again, and I’m not sure it matters if I do. But it is about meeting my goals, and doing the things I want to do. So that’s my endgame. .

This past month and a half I read "The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution by @avivaromm". I wanted to share my view on this book and if you wanted to read it or weren't sure if it is for you. A little synopsis is that it is for women that are feeling off, like crap, and/or never really getting better. Also, if you just keep getting the "oh this is what happens with age", "this is what's normal for women", response from doctors. FYI just because it's NORMAL among women, doesn't mean that it is how we should be living! 😲 Yep just because a lot of women deal with PMS or incontinence doesn't mean we have to. **MIC DROP**⠀

Ok, so back to the book. It is all about that feeling out of sorts and Dr. Aviva Romm came up with this term Survival Overdrive Syndrome (SOS) and how this is WHY we are feeling all these things and not getting better. She doesn't just say WHY she has created HOW to get better... SO here are my likes, loves, not so much's, and take-away's.⠀

-hormones are used for more than just making babies ⠀
-includes full program to intervene on restarting the body⠀
-really resonated with me and how I feel there is more to feeling better than just exercise, nutrition, or the mind; it is all encompassing⠀

gethealthy This picture represents a HUGE source of anxiety for me. One of my biggest parenting struggles is dealing with the messes. Kids are SO MESSY. Logically, I know that making a mess through exploration is such an important part of their development. But it is still very challenging for me. This morning, I took a deep breath, sat back in my chair, and let my daughter feed herself. She was thrilled and ultimately, the mess only took a few minutes to clean up. I'm challenging myself to consciously allow my children to get messy more often.

So why not train these functional movement patterns in our workouts?? •••
Here’s some functional strength training moves I incorporate into my postpartum clients (once they’ve mastered the basics of early postpartum rehab)

2. Good mornings
3. Rotating lunges
4. Turkish get ups 
5. Core stabilizers

The single side weight aspect is a great way to train your core for REAL LIFE STUFF! 
Unless you’re always carrying around 2 babies (bless you twin moms 🙏🏻) you’re probably holdin weight on one side of your body the majority of the time. 👆this is a great way to train those muscles to turn on and work correctly when we need them most!
