backday 163lbs VS 178lbs. SWIPE ➡️➡️➡️ I don’t know if ppl really understand the amount of work it takes to gain 15lbs of muscle. you see a lot of claims online... This program can make you put 15,20,30, 40lbs of muscle in weeks, months... if it wasn’t so outrageous it would be funny. This type of information is what (on a macro level) makes ppl feel so inadequate because they can’t understand why they aren’t able to gain 20lbs of muscle on the 3 month program that claimed they could.

Furthermore, putting on 5lbs of muscle is a HUGE accomplishment and can aesthetically make you look so different. You don’t need to gain 20lbs of muscle to notice a huge difference in your body.

Having said all of that, the 5 most effective ways to put on muscle are the following:

1. Eat a ton. With out a surplus of effective calories, training 163x a week won’t matter.

2. consistent, smart, progressive overload. If the muscles in the body aren’t being worked progressively then muscle growth will come to a hault. The demand on the body must be progressive over time.

3. Water. the body is mostly made of H20. if we aren’t properly hydrated, the body can’t work efficiently or effectively. if you want to grow muscle it’s imperative you stay hydrated.

4. Patience. if you think you are naturally going to become a bod builder in 2 months, you will only be frustrated and want to quit when that does happen. do what needs to be done, and don’t worry about the result. Only focus on the process.

5. Rest. working out more does not always equal more muscle. Muscle breaksdown from the gym, it only grows through rest and recovery. If all we ever do is break down muscle then when does it get the chance to grow? let the body rest. re-fuel it.  trust the process.

Water. the body is mostly made of H20. if we aren’t properly hydrated, the body can’t work efficiently or effectively. if you want to grow muscle it’s imperative you stay hydrated. 4. Patience. if you think you are naturally going to become a bod builder in 2 months, you will only be frustrated and want to quit when that does happen. do what needs to be done, and don’t worry about the result. Only focus on the process. 5. Rest. working out more does not always equal more muscle. Muscle breaksdown from the gym, it only grows through rest and recovery. backday oh my worddd i am beyond happy to have gone to the gym yesterday.🤩 whenever i have the chance to go, i want to go ALL out, but i know that isn’t smart, so i don’t. let me fill you in on what’s been happening recently!!💓

my life has basically consisted of church, school, volleyball, dieting, and sleeping.😴 almost every monday, tuesday, and thursday i have volleyball (it depends), so i have to manage my time really well on those days.🏐 wednesday’s i have nothing so i often take a nap. friday i have to cheer at football games and don’t get home till late, making me very tired going into the weekend :/. most of the time i won’t even workout on the weekends because i know if i do i’ll get overly tired and sore. although, i do tiny workouts at home, i don’t necessarily count that as a “full workout.” after school season i have club so my time being able to go to the gym will be limited again, but i’ll try my best to go.

tuesday’s workout:
☁️(11 laps = mile) 9 pushups between each lap & 1 pushup at end to bring total to 100
☁️ 2min sit-ups
☁️ 2min reverse bicycle crunches
☁️ 2min plank
☁️ 2min ankle touches
☁️ 50 bicycle crunches
☁️ 50 leg raises

Here is my back and bicep workout from last night! The 5th video in is a combination of 3 exercises. I had to condense to add more clips.... and!!! I wasn’t going to add the last clips... because they are embarrassing!😅... at least to me they are. But I decided what the heck... we are all a fit fam on here... and I could probably use some pointers!🤷🏼‍♀️ .

From 2014 to 2016 I did CrossFit and at the time really got into the Olympic weight lifting!(not the cardio portion of CrossFit... that part I hated!!!🥴) I love cleans and snatches!!! Needless to say I haven’t actually done them since 2016.(but for once back in July I think when I was farting around at the gym) What can I say... I was going to the purple gym and they don’t have a platform!!🤷🏼‍♀️.... so yeah... I’m super rusty... and kind of felt defeated and weak!😅.... but you aren’t kicking me down cleans and snatches!!😂 I’m coming back for more!!!(... that’s me giving myself a pep talk!😅) I decided to share this because!!!!! Everyone really does start somewhere... even when you are coming back to something you used to think you were okay at. Don’t be ashamed if what you’re doing isn’t perfect the first time!!! (...did anyone else notice how floppy that 10 pound weight was?🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🤔)

One of my major focuses the last few months has been bringing up the back. I found I had been just going through the movements and letting the arms take over a lot. I finally have the connection there and progress is being made. Try out today’s training session 🤙🏻
▫️Lat pull downs: 4 sets at 6-10 reps
▫️Barbell rows: 5 sets at 6-10 reps
▫️Dumbbell rows(single arm): 3 sets at 5-8 reps
▫️Deadlift: 4 sets at 4-8 reps
▫️Seated rows: 2 sets at 6-10 reps, set 3 is a drop set

It's pretty cool that the gym can bring some great people into my life. Its beautiful to be able to listen, understand, and visually see how someone can take a troubled past or trauma and use fitness to turn their entire life around for the better. I empathize with these stories so much, and I feel so blessed to be in a chapter of that for anyone who let's me. I take my social media seriously because I have met, befriended, loved and even have been disappointed by some of the people who look up to me for my fitness Instagram and YouTube. backday TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY IN BASIC FIT!!
I'm heading back to ships ⚓ Tomorrow we'll fly to miami and join our ship somewhere next week! In so so so excited!!! FYI when I come back home... @basicfitnl will be my jam again🙌❤

While at Home/Vacation I've spent a lot of time on neglected body parts such as my back! My previous ship didnt have much equipment to do many different back exercises (cables, assisted pull up or barbells). I took advantage of the extra time to get that back to shape! I hope on my next ship I can keep it up💪🏼
