Fran Kravitz is an innovative & dedicated member of the Chicago Local Section and a deserving 2019 Outreach Volunteer of the Year recipient. She is a founder & organizer of section outreach activities with the Illinois State Fair & local Boy and Girl Scout Troops. Mike Sheets has been an active member of the East Texas Local Section for several years and is a very deserving 2019 #ACSVoty recipient. Mike has served in numerous leadership positions in the section, including as the current secretary. He has also been instrumental in section outreach activities, focusing on bringing #STEM to a wider audience. Recently, he collaborated with the Sulphur River Basin Authority, the Boy Scouts of America, Airgas Corporation, Pleasant Grove High School, and LeTourneau University to receive funding for a grant to further outreach efforts. Phenoxy-dioxetanes are a class of light-emitting molecules that enables versatile chemiluminescence sensing.
