What a week.
Anyone else feel like it’s been a bit of a funny one?
Today is Terry’s Birthday and there is cake in the house and that’s a good way to end the week if you ask me. 🍒Black Forest Gateaux - recipe from this months @waitroseandpartners Food magazine 🍒 #pippyevebakes

Good morning, how was your weekend?
This weekend I discovered a small business had taken one of my designs and passed it off as their own, even lifting text straight from my pattern in their items description (it’s sorted now). Often I see people say copying is flattery. It is not. Nothing about it made me feel good. What it is, is hurtful, undermining and dismissive. I’ve often been asked how can you design without copying, my answer is - by doing your own work from the ground up. Copying is very different from being inspired. I see knitting as an open source language and it is down to the designer to learn the language and how to combine it to create a desired outcome.
This applies to all crafts and businesses - do your own work. It’s not easy but I’m not here for an easy ride; I’m here to learn, stretch myself and be able to look at my work and know everything that’s gone into creating it and that I did myself proud.

The Lacey Romper knitting pattern is written, edited and very nearly ready to go.
Thank you for your continuous support. Putting myself and my work out *there* does not come easy to me and your our, likes, kind words and purchases, mean so so much 💕

There are many creative journeys to designing or making something new.
The most rare journey of them all is when something flows from my brain with such ease. It then comes together with no resistance. And most significantly, I really really love the finished outcome.
This romper was one of those rare occasions. It’s exactly what I imagined it would be✨

Up with the lark this morning. Sunshine is helping.
Yesterday I finished writing up the Lacey Romper and this morning there is something new already on my needles.
My love of knitting is well and truly returned to me 💕

If I were asked what is pippy eve about? I think this image would sum it up pretty well 💕

A new design fresh off my needles.
I have to say, I’m a little bit excited about it (and thankful, I was getting worried for a moment as there were quite a few false starts🙈). If you like the Mio Romper, I think this might be for you xx

My knitting mojo went on an unplanned extended leave of absence....
But, I don’t want to jinx it but I think 🤞🏼it’s finally returned.
New yarn also helps.

I was sent a surprise bouquet of flowers as a thank you. I’ve never had such a beautiful bunch of flowers before.
I find accepting praise or gratitude so very hard (feels of guilt & unworthiness and then extra feels of guilt because I can’t just accept a such kind gesture with ease).

It got a thumbs up from her, ‘I’m going to tell everyone at school my mama made it’. She went off to school this morning full of beans for her trip to the zoo.
Oh to be 7 again 💕

Trying this thing where I take a picture, like the picture and post the picture without giving it a second thought.... A stack of off-cuts and leftover cord from a macrame project which I managed to use to make a small for Pippa this afternoon. Using leftovers for a new project is one of my most favourite things. It always feels like I’m getting something for free.
