#HitchARideInJuly discussion post.... warning spoilers in comments.
1. What did you enjoy about the book? What made you laugh?
2. Some say Hitchhiker's is a parody of government and big business. Did you see it his way? How does it parody these institutions? Or is this just a hilarious romp through space?
3. The two most famous icons from this series are the towel and, "don't panic". You want to comment on that?

I got tagged by @c0nstantreader for her #shoutouttomyfaveauthor tag. I’m giving the nod to Yann Martel. His books are brilliant and I love them all. He’s also a fellow Canadian, and a damn decent human. I met him in person and he was nice enough to sign and inscribe all my books!
Tagging everyone who feels like doing this one.
It’s copy cat day on #divaishjuly . Here I am, the best beard on the planet, I make women swoon to the sound of my guitar and sultry voice. I don’t even have to try...
Kidding aside, this guy is prolly one of the coolest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He’s the guy I’d want by my side in a buddy cop movie, he could be the Mark Wahlberg to my Will Farrell any time!!!!

The Summer Of Leonard
I’m glad some of my friends are discovering Leonard Cohen lately. .
I’ve been a fan of Leonard Cohen for as long as I can remember. I am obsessed with his words as well as the man. I’ve always felt like Cohen was talking to me, imparting wisdom to me. Lately his words feel different to me, it’s no longer an older man telling me like it is, but I’m truly starting to understand his words, as if I’m growing wiser myself for some reason. .
Have you met Leonard Cohen? Have you read his words? Have you heard his music? What do his words do for you?
I was tagged by @long.rat.reads for her #forever10 tag. Finally a tag where I don’t need to harm myself and or my books. So I decided to go with ten books, all 5 star reads for me, that have marked me in some way and made me want to be a better person.
Not in any particular order.
Through Black Spruce by Joseph Boyden.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
My Decade at Old Sun, My Lifetime of Hell by Bear Chief
When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
The Best Kind of People by Zoe Whittall
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman
Precious Cargo by Craig Davidson
All I’m gonna say about these is read them for yourself and I hope they inspire you as much as they have me.
Tagging a few friends to share theirs.

The bookstagram community doesn’t agree on everything. But one thing we all seem to agree on is that Kealan Patrick Burke is pretty damn awesome and his stories are universally loved!!! I finally have something with his signature and best of all inscribed in my collection. If anyone hasn’t read his work yet, stop reading this, and get to one of his stories. As he would say, Enjoy the darkness! Thank you Kealan, I love it!!!
