A little #tbt remembering autumn in the Peak District. This was one of those special mornings when the conditions were fabulous and I ended up at Ladybower reservoir just as the light was beginning to break through the mist. Those three boats rather helped with the overall composition. Yesterday was a strange day, I was accused of hypocrisy because I suggested it was really unfair that the poppy field got trampled, their argument centring around the fact that I should take responsibility for it because my photo of it went ‘viral’. Although I can see their argument, it’s hugely simplistic. I was very cautious not to give away exact locations and I certainly did not go trouncing through the middle of a field like an idiot looking for a selfie. Although I feel a degree of responsibility, I’m not responsible for other people’s actions on *any level*. I left the field as I’d found it. After a few convos with others, I realise that there’s probably something deeper there. Safe to say, I feel vindicated. But please, if you’re going to a location, be respectful! It’s just common sense.
Later on I went to @timcornbill’s “Urban Photogrophy” book launch (go get yourself a copy, already!) and realised how wonderful the Brum photo community is in comparison to the often negative, insidious elements of the online photography community. There’s much less sneering, less hierarchy, less passive aggressiveness. Really grateful for them! Oh and, after last night, I remembered that haters are always gonna hate, and that usually means you’re doing something right 😉
