Rex suffered a level of human abuse that most pups don't survive. Thanks to brilliant surgery donated by veterinarians, a great group of humans, and a little time Rex is now a happy dog with a bright future (link to a before and after image in comments for those who have the stomach for it). Segunda chance

Heart wrenching footage of Cleopatra’s nine month old calf beside her dead mother who succumbed to an infection in Buffalo Springs National Reserve earlier this week. Our team immediately notified the Samburu vet and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) team who rushed to the scene. As the calf was getting dehydrated from being in the scorching sun, KWS decided to send her to @r.e.s.c.u.e where she is receiving care. The 54 year old mother of seven was the matriarch of the ‘Royals’ family - the largest and most dominant herd known to us - a responsibility she shared with her sister Anastasia. We will keep you posted on her calf's progress. #RIPCleopatra. Footage: Gilbert Sabinga

🐅 Subject: Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris)
🌎 Location: Bandhavgarh National Park, India
📉 Animal Status IUCN: Endangered
📖 Story: This sighting culminated what was the most amazing photographic day of my life. 5 top photographic sightings ie where each sighting was amazing and had great sight lines of the subject. Normally a single great sighting per park was to be cherished. We were at a sighting with two sub adults when our guide and driver said, no we must go as they heard something in the distance. Like a mirage we came across this female that had brought her three cubs down to the water for a drink which made amazing photos. I took this photo as she led her cubs back to the jungle as she paused for a moment while we waited. My heart pounding and racing. I’ve never felt so alive while being so still. Doing a happy dance inside wanting to leap up and high five my best friend next to me was hard not to do. We did open a bottle of whiskey to celebrate an amazing day afterwards for sure!
👍 Photographed in the wild. Always ethical, never baited subjects
