All the traveling, dressing up, poppin’ champagne and photoshoots fills my cup but nothing compares to being at home, in sweats, drinking smoothies, cuddled with the pups- working my biz from the couch 😌🖤 So dang grateful for this life I’m building for myself ✨

Stargazing at Mount St. Helens. Watching the core of the Milky Way galaxy align with St. Helens crater is truly a sight worth seeing for yourself.

I love how views like this are just a short hike away
Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man.

I haven’t been keeping up with posting on here a lot, @instagram has been really uninspiring for me lately. @bubbablue45 and I have lots of cool photos and adventures to share with you guys but I feel like insta doesn’t show them to anyone anymore.😥 We’re still out here having a blast though!🧡
One of my favorite parts of being a paper flower artist is the unexpected combinations that sometimes appear in my studio!!! Case and point this combination of peonies and water lilies!
This unlikely duo look so fabulous!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖

How do we celebrate our 5 year anniversary? Why by doing a sunset hike, getting home & taking an hour power nap and heading out for a sunrise hike of course! 👏🏼 Life full of adventure with this one. Love that he is always up for these wild adventures! 5 years is just the beginning! 🥰 #5yearanniversary#untilforever#noplanb#iloveyoumost
Reaching for the mountains this weekend...adventure wise & personal growth wise. I'm hoping to get some blogging done this weekend but also some writing for pleasure. I used to write all the time for fun & short stories were my passion. I especially spent a lot of time on this during college in literary fiction & creative non-fiction class. Horror & mystery were definitely my specialty lol. Now I write all the time for work (technical style/legal style writing, kinda boring lol) and also on the blog from time to time. While I like blogging and sharing advice, guides, & adventures it just isn't the same as writing a piece of fiction that really sucks you in and takes you to another place.
I'll be spending time this weekend trying to get back into the groove of that and making time to write (and read) for pleasure this year. I'm lucky to have such a supporting husband who always motivates me to do the things I love & constantly lifts me up. He gave me a great idea for my 1st series. Travel/tourist horror stories from each country (ones we've been to and from our personal scary experiences and other countries as well). Paranormal and real life scaries lol. Time to do some folklore research! Maybe I'll even make a section on the blog for this. 🤔
Today is FRIDAY! 🎉 Make your way down Broadway after 5pm and grab a drink (or two) at the Chamber’s 2019 #NewTacomaAwards Ghilarducci Award recipient, @mcmenaminselkstemple! . **Tag your buddies and let them know you want to go tonight👇**
In 2012, I watched a de Havilland Otter land on Lake Washington — the water splashing in a brilliant wake behind the pontoons.
A born and raised Seattleite, it was the first time I’d ever seen a seaplane land — let alone the first time I’d ridden on one.
As I stood on the private Medina dock, the single-engine plane taxi toward me, I was filled with equal parts excitement and nervousness.
We flew to Debob Bay, to a beach only accessible by seaplane or boat. We flew at 500 feet, past shorelines rarely seen. Big stretches of seemingly untouched wilderness were tucked into the hillsides. Mountains rose from the water like sleeping giants. I sat glued to the window, camera in hand, all my fears fading into the clouds.
Since then, I’ve taken countless seaplane flights — visiting quaint islands like Orcas and Lopez. I’ve gone to elegant cities like Victoria. And, explored remote bucket-list worthy destinations like the West Coast Wilderness Lodge and Chatterbox Falls.
And in all my travels, I’ve learned a few things about flying on a seaplane.
Discover my top picks for what to bring and what leave when traveling by seaplane on my most recent post!
