I feel like a broken record but here it goes. Procrastination is a another defence we use to NOT feel our feelings.
Thats right. I'm guilty of this one. MAJORLY.
I'm pretty open about my ADHD diagnosis on this platform (and in general). Procrastination is a common defence I use to avoid uncomfortable feelings.
It's different for everyone, but for me I cannot handle the fear of failing or not doing something well enough. For example, doing something I'm super behind on (like taxes or paperwork). I don't start because starting would mean to face how behind I am, which brings up a lot of disappointment, grief, fear, frustration and sometimes anger (aka core emotions).
All of those core emotions become too much to feel, so then I automatically start to feel anxious and shameful and guilty (secondary emotions). These emotions are called secondary emotions because they serve to cover up the previous core emotions.
THEN the anxiety, shame, and guilt start to feel overwhelming, so I procrastinate (defensive behaviour). Procrastination pushes that anxiety, shame and guilt underground because now I'm totally avoiding the feelings.
When we are trying to cope instead of feel then we defend against feelings and reach for ways to bury those feelings. Procrastination literally takes our attention AWAY from what is happening to something entirely different.
When we can become curious about our defensive behaviours, then we can start to recognize what is underneath them... so that we can feel them, and get unstuck.
** Disclaimer, sometimes we need to cope or distract instead of feel. The goal however is eventually try to start feeling more than just coping so that we can move past our trauma and stuck emotions and experiences.
Stress. Something we All deal with. I’m an organised individual, but I do stress myself out easy by trying to do to much in one day.
Instead I’ve shifted my work ethic and find myself able to Breathe 😌
How do you deal with stress?
I've had an extremely #stressful and #busy few weeks and this week and weekend topped last week and weekend! Thank God I have baking to keep me centered. I had a new customer today and it was so fun to make her Cherry Pie! Thank you for ordering @twonsoneh! It was great to meet you! I've also been working on developing a recipe for the perfect peach pie (swipe for more pics) so we're going to do a taste test after our brisket, mashed potatoes and salad dinner.
GRILLED CEDAR PLANK SALMON BURGERS
You can find cedar planks at many grocery stores where the grilling items are or at a local hardware store. They impart a special flavor to the salmon, and also make it so much easier to grill. Let's get you started.
1 ½ pounds wild caught salmon fillets
1 ½ tablespoons mayonnaise
1 ½ tablespoons mustard
½ small red onion, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
2 tablespoons fresh dill
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh lemon juice, to taste
1. Soak the cedar planks in water for at least 2 hours before you plan on cooking. You will need enough planks to cook all your #salmon patties. Preheat your grill and set it up for indirect heat, at about 350-375F.
2. Remove the skin and any pin bones from the salmon. Cut the salmon into smaller pieces then add it to a food processor. Add the mayo, mustard, dill, salt, pepper, and garlic. Pulse until the salmon turns into a smooth paste.
3. Scrape the salmon paste out of the food processor and transfer it to a mixing bowl. Mix in the onion and celery.
4. Add the planks to the grill to allow them to preheat. Form the salmon mixture into equally sized patties. Place two on each plank then grill for about 25-30 minutes or until the salmon is fully cooked through. Remove the planks from the heat then squeeze a touch of lemon juice over the top. Serve with your favorite toppings.
This makes a total of 4 servings of Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon Burgers . Each serving comes out to be 360.25 Calories, 16.76g Fats, 1.7g Net Carbs, and 47.08g Protein.

Back from Ireland and now moving house lol Neil and I are officially moving in together (as he was not on the lease to my current place naughty naughty, so we are doing things correctly this time). We did locate and view the property together and for the first time, I have someone to pay half the costs of the move which is nice 😊
It's a 3 bed Victorian house, with the original layout, sadly none of the original fittings though, but it doesn't matter. Now I just have to sort getting everything moved from old place to the new, clean old place, have the carpets professionally cleaned, whilst sorting the new place, while working 12-15 hour days 😮😮😮😮😮 Will be nice when I can have friends over and the roleplay group over for a session 😊

Yesterday I visited my old boarding school. Whilst I LOVED school, I sucked at academic studies. Leaving school with no qualifications my belief about myself was limited to say the least. .
I grew up thinking I was stupid and that everyone else was able to learn easily. .
Whilst my early jobs were very very menial I always had enthusiasm and energy. Luckily I found myself in an environment that changed how I saw myself and and my belief in my future changed. .
Set yourself HUGE goals, get yourself in the right environment and go and achieve the future that’s waiting for you.

I nearly missed out on this spectacular view this morning. Why? Because I nearly let the voices in my head win. The ones telling me..
It’s too cold, dark and windy.
Stay in bed where it’s warm.
You deserve a sleep in.
You’re not fit enough.
You will hardly know anyone.
It’s Sunday just relax.
And the list goes on.
Instead I got up in the dark, drove 40min (I considered turning around many times), sat in the car for a few minutes, where again I contemplated going home, but instead I got out of the car and my comfort zone and enjoyed a run/walk along bells beach. The best part is the connection, spending time with like minded people, who have also chosen to show up, to push themselves, and start their Sunday on an endorphin high. All this is possible thanks to Bree and Gabe from @the_finishr if you haven’t experienced this epic tribe, I encourage you to come along next Sunday, I promise you won’t regret it.
HORSES!! Honestly! I just can’t figure them out! Today was the first day of the summer holidays, I am meant to be unwinding and feeling de-stressed but no! Pea felt wrong on our hack and looked a bit stiff/shuffly trotted up. She also knocked a scab off her chin so it was bleeding. Neither are life threatening situations but they are not helpful. How am I meant to keep her weight down if she is sore and if she can’t wear her muzzle!? Praying she’s feeling better tomorrow
