if you want more light.
become a bonfire.
if you like crave depth.
turn into an ocean.
and if you’re looking for love.
start with sowing more kindness.
in your heart.
for whatever we focus on.
and whatever we are.
is what come into our lives.
and if you aspire every day.
to show up as your highest self.
whoever comes to you.
will only be the best.
• Remember. The way you make love is the way God will be with you. — Rumi

Sitting in the ATL airport waiting to board onto my next little international adventure and thought I would share this little gem I found this week!
When I came across this little quote it totally captured and held my attention for days. I was so focused on the meaning behind the words. I found personal triumph in some aspects of them which felt amazing! While in others, I may have found room for improvement. Does anyone else ever find themselves getting too caught up in every day life or perhaps a draining or toxic routine? Just a little Sunday Funday food for thought💛
Yes !! Reposted from @ladydeelg - This past weekend (On Sunday) we were getting ready to go out, and I asked my son to get dressed. He went to his room and came back wearing this shirt. It was the day the occupants of the WH had said there would be #ICEraids and I was already already having all sorts of feelings about going out. I’m going to be honest, sometimes I feel guilty. I feel guilty that I can be with my kids, and that so many parents aren’t that lucky. I feel guilty to think about doing fun things pretending this country is not seriously fucked up. I wonder why my kids can be safe and some kids, the same age as my kids, are suffering immeasurable pain and toxic stress that they will probably carry with them their whole lives. I wonder what my life would’ve been like if I had been separated from my parents. To be clear, I think about what is happening EVERY SINGLE DAY. As a daughter of immigrants, I can’t NOT think about it; I want to do something every single day. And so, when my son came out wearing this shirt I thought “he knows.” He senses things, he sees headlines, he probably doesn’t understand it all but he knew enough to wear a tee that said “I stand for immigrants.” Hug your babies tonight and every night bc you can, and so many others can’t. #closethecamps#endfamilyseparation#endfamilydetention#istandwithimmigrants#immigrantsmakeamericagreat #mkbkids#daughterofimmigrants#weallgrow#immigrants#parentingandpolitics#politicsispersonal#immigrantfamiliestogether
I'm a people pleaser and I blame it on my Asian upbringing - I learnt how to respect your elders and the consequences if you disobeyed. .
I attended an amazing panel discussion the other night on 'Avoiding the Burnout'. Topics of conversation was mainly around stress, how to deal with it, how it affects your body (particularly for females), etc. .
Anyways, one of the take aways was this - If you have a supporting group of people around you that want to help you out, who want to take that extra weight and stress off you, and you're still saying 'yes' to things, you've got no one to blame but yourself. I'm one of those people. .
I'm slowly starting to realise I don't have to please everybody. I'm becoming more and more aware of what my limitations are and understanding when's the right time to say 'no' to things. .
So, take it from me when I say, know your limits, it's not the end of the world. Look after yourself and lean on those around you who are there for support. You're never alone and don't feel ashamed to ask for help or say 'no'. .
