I don’t carrot all that I didn’t find a golden egg on my run this morning, because I’ve got this plate of🥕carrot cake waffles 🐰

Otherwise, for the carrot cake waffles 👉 I just used @birchbenders original mix per instructions, but I added cinnamon, nutmeg, grated carrot, and chopped walnuts. Then I topped with the vegan cream cheese frosting I had left over from the cookies, more walnuts, and coconut butter

What's better than banana bread? Chocolate banana bread 🙃 This one is super fluffy, soft and chocolatey. It's refined sugar-free, made with spelt flour and it's super easy and quick to prepare. And I totally recommend eating it with peanut butter and banana 😋 You can find the recipe on my blog!

✨Healthy habits keep us happy and also going in life. Sometimes we don’t always feel our best and sometimes we have super stressful days. But here are my healthy habits that keep me going:
✨Write in a journal. I can vent my emotions and also jot my thoughts down. Every day, I write down one thing I am thankful for.
✨Treat myself everyday- this includes watching my favorite Hulu TV shows or listening to my favorite playlist OTW to work
✨Talk to my friends and family. Whether it’s over text, phone call, or in person, socializing and forming relationships is super important. ✨Workout. An obvious one, but it gets my body moving and my endorphins come out!
✨Ban negative thoughts. Don’t imagine the bad outcome when they haven’t happened yet, and don’t tell yourself negative things. Be your own cheerleader 📣! Having an amazing time visiting family and friends for the holiday! Hope you guys have a Hoppy Easter 🐰

Morning☀️Saturday morning Semolina Coconut Pancakes. Fried with a crispy outside. Big on coconut🥥 flavor:
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut
2 cups semolina flour
1 mashed banana
2 tbsp oil
5 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2-3 cups almond milk (add 2 cups until it is a thick batter consistency)
Fry in plenty of oil, and use metal spatula frequently to make sure it doesnt stick to pan. When it cools the cake will have the best texture. Top with vegan butter, peanut butter, toasted goji berries, and fresh berries.
An avocado a day keeps the f*ck boys away ✨ Literally! Lol after breakfast I always have what I created to be an avocado shake very simple. 1 full avocado and two handfuls of almonds in the blender almost cover the ingredients with water a few ice cubes and blend! Before this plant based life I would never even try an avocado or guac I was such a texture person so blending it into this shake helps me have 1 per day. I feel like it helps with hair breakage and smooths out your skin. Most people can eat other fruits so you can add a banana and use almond milk to add a little sweetness so yummy! 🥑🥑
Vegan garlic knots😱😱 we just randomly decided to make these this morning and so glad that we did! ·We used store bought pizza dough, which we hope to try and make our own dough someday soon when we are more prepared😂 we just cut the dough into strips, tied them into knots, (put some olive oil on the baking sheet before laying down the dough) then we brushed them with olive oil. Next, plop them into the oven for 20 minutes at 425°. ·While they are baking, melt 5 tbsp of vegan butter over medium low heat. Add 5 small cloves of garlic minced to the melted butter. Stir to combine. We added some diced up spinach as well.
·Once the knots are done and out of the oven, brush them with the butter mixture then enjoy!!😄 ·

My post workout meal is about 4 or 5 pounds of papaya or as a clever friend of mine calls it "Poop-aya". 😂 I hear people say I don't eat too much fruit because it makes me go to the bathroom all the time. To which I say isn't that a good thing? Food should provide us with great nutrition and on topcof that be easy to digest. We shouldn't want food that will stick to our bodies and give us a heavy full feeling. You should be going to the bathroom 💩 as many times as you eat. There was a point where I would go 💩 maybe 3 times in a week. So #fruitthefuckup and keep those bowels regular.

We happened to stumble upon @zooeydeschanel and @jacobpechenik new project. Lettuce Grow hopes to help people like you and I grow 20% of our own food. This is an incredible initiative that provides many benefits, including cleaner food, increasing healthy diet and reduced plastic waste. Taylor and I are very excited to purchase one for our new home in Texas. We will have a longer growing season but yards tend to be smaller in Austin so this will be a space saver. @lettucegrow is making beautiful strides towards helping our planet.

I get asked a lot about groceries. How much I spend, how long a haul lasts me, & where I shop!
Swipe left for the receipt of this haul. It’s about as much as I spend each time I do a “full” grocery haul. This will keep me from going to the store for about a week. I don’t have to rebuy everything, just a little more fruit and usually lettuce. I don’t use ALL this stuff in 7 days - if that’s makes sense. About every two weeks I’ll do a full haul and get ALL this stuff at once. My avg is about $80-$110. Usually on the higher side when I buy @sietefoods or @simplemills or other snacky things. These are not “must haves” when healing just FYI.
My top two stores I shop @ are @traderjoes & @sprouts because they are the best price. The only thing I really like to buy at Whole Foods is lettuce because they have huge heads. But I try to avoid going there cause I’ll buy everything 🙂 I also love @walmart cause it’s super cheap!
I almost always buy the same stuff for each haul. I eat pretty simply most of the time & will spend a little more money if I’m making an extravagant dish but this is very rare. I also try & buy fruit that is on sale that week. I don’t buy ALL organic produce but I do stick to the “dirty dozen” .
Not pictured are my five stalks of celery, and two heads of lettuce - also not included in the purchase receipt. But these are two things I always always buy for my hauls

So, what's up with that keto fad? Is it really magic, best thing for fat loss and health since sliced brea ... bacon?
Question at hand, or better yet an answer to that question, was the topic of my presentation at the Congress on Modern Diets at Faculty of Medicine University of Maribor, a week ago.
Titled: Critical Review of Ketogenic Diet for Body Composition and Health. Here's the short summary:
1. Low carbohydrate diets do not accelerate fat loss. You may lose some extra water weighy in the first few days though. But noone cares about that.
2. Ketogenic diets don't have any metabolic "advantages" or special benefits. Even in obese and diabetic patients ketogenic diets are not superior when compared to other more balanced diets.
3. Ketogenic diet is basically an anti-epileptic diet. Epilepsy, or more broadly impaired brain glucose metabolism, is the ONLY clinical situation in which ketogenic diets have been shown to be highly beneficial.
4. Ketogenic diets could have immediate adverse effects. Most commonly recorded being; slowed growth and loss of bone mineral density, gastrointestinal symptoms, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol) and higher risk for kidney stones.
5. Ketogenic diets could have other longer-term adverse effects, such as; impaired vascular function, nutrient deficiencies, loss of microbiota diversity, unfavourable changes in microbiota composition, reduced social integration and higher risk of disordered eating.
BOTTOM LINE: If you don't have refractory epilepsy, there is nothing beneficial to be gained from the ketogenic diet ... Only a bunch of more or less common possible adverse effects.
