Made it up to this part of Olympic National Park the other day. Two years ago, my family and I scattered my grandmother's ashes up there on our shared birthday, one year after she died. She always supported my education and her death came at a tough time for me but she lived an amazing life and I remember her every time I visit this place. 💙

Can’t beat winding mountain roads at sunset. This is the road leading up to Hurricane Ridge with the Olympic mountains glowing behind it.
We are day dreaming back to the time when we spent a few days in the mountains of Olympic National Park...and for good reason! Look at how absolutely beautiful those snow capped mountain tops look! Where is your favorite National Park...let us know so we can daydream of new locations to visit. 📸 @JasonBafilePhotography

Another view of the Marymere Falls Trail and the tunnel that leads back under the 101 to the visitors center. Exiting opens up to Lake Crescent and a small dock to the left. The last image is of Hurricane Ridge my last stop of day 4.
Olympic National Park is a great place to escape to the woods! But be warned, there are, like, 18 different entrances and sections of the park and they all offer a little something different. OK, so 18 might be a slight exaggeration, but the point has been made! This here was in the Hurricane Ridge zone and we even managed to find a lonely trail off of the main path where we managed to escape the “crowds.” (More than three people at the same lookout denotes a crowd, if you ask me.) But besides the empty trail, how bout them pine trees!? And little Josh wandering between them. Good thing he has that red jacket; sometimes it’s the only way I can spot him when meandering through the forest! 😂 What’s your favorite section of Olympic? Let us know so we know where to explore the next time we visit!

One of the most incredible mountain ranges I’ve ever seen 😍🏔🙌🏻 we came here last November and waited for 2 hours hoping the clouds would clear and they never did 😔 we actually didn’t even plan to go here this trip but when we woke up this morning and there were clear skies in Sequim, we got ready as quick as we could and headed to Hurricane ridge! We’ll get home two hours later then we planned, but it was so worth it! 🏔♥️

I could have spent so much more time in Washington and still feel like I barely scratched the surface♥️ sammy and I planned to end up at Lake Crescent after driving into the peninsula from Seattle, and driving up Hurricane ridge. There ended up being road work on the drive to Hurricane ridge, so our 1 hour drive up there turned closer to 2. It was foggy in the morning and cleared up to be a beautiful day for a picnic on the mountain. We wanted to get to lake crescent in time to rent kayaks at the falls and kayak until dark. We ended up making it slightly after kayak rentals ended, but we made the best of it. We sat on the rocky beach and enjoyed the views, and we made 2 duck friends (later became nemesis when the mallard bit my toe). And we hiked to Marymere falls and ate some chicken and dumplings on the beach watching the sunset. Things may not always work out the way you expect, but adventures always seem to make the unexpected worth it.
This picture was our view eating our dinner sitting on a beach log. __________________________________________ #olympicnationalpark#olympicpeninsula#lakecrescent#lakecrescentlodge #marymerefalls#hurricaneridge#portangeles#kayaking#unexpectedadventure#adventure#hiking#optoutside#jetboil#picnic#grateful#beach#mountains
