⛰ The Smoky Mountains were given their name by the Cherokee because it actually looks like certain areas are covered in a blue haze. This hike to Chimney Tops was an absolutely glorious adventure that included an insane incline and hundreds of stairs; I was a bit out of breath upon reaching the top and even had to take a few breaks on my way up there, perhaps due to my former habit of smoking. Though the final bit of the trail was closed after a wildfire destroyed it several years ago, I had the lookout all to myself and it was even more breathtaking than the hike. My recovering lungs have triumphed yet again, this time conquering the Smokies themselves. 🙌🏼🖤

Rumor has it that the beargrass is putting on quite the show these days. I’ll have to rely on photos from a few years back and @nw_kevino bringing me wildflower bouquets for a few more weeks before I can enjoy it myself.

Yep. Last weekend was a good one. 🏕
We took the trailer up to Hyrum Reservoir & camped right on the lake. It was beautiful & so much fun! We spent 3 days kayaking, fishing, playing games & cooking together. I think it was the perfect way to spend Father’s Day weekend for our mountain loving guy! 🏔
Trips like this always make it hard to come back home to real life! ❤️
How much do you really know about people? You take your time spend possibly years on end getting to know people, sharing your deepest darkest secrets with them. Trusting that they'll keep them for you, because you believe they are good people. Because you believe that they're there for you. To listen to you in that time of need. When somethings on your mind. You trust that they're truly your best friend, and they mean the world to you. So you tell them, you tell them everything. Thinking that it's mutual, that they can tell you anything. That they can and are reciprocating everything you give them for the same reasons that you do. Only to find out that they had different motives. That the one you trusted most didnt do things for you because they wanted to just for the sake of caring and being a good person, but because they had alternative motives. And when you finally start to realize this, it's too late. Things become twisted in to some sort of alternative reality that eventually tears everything apart. .
His imagination is really starting to grow...now it feels like my baby is growing up so fast!

Day 16 of #30dayswild and we went on a bike ride and climbed trees 🌳 We found some pretty good ones for climbing too 🌳
One less good for climbing, but nevertheless pretty amazing, is the broadest tree in the world which can be found right here in México 🌳The Árbol del Tule in Oaxaca is 32 feet in diameter and 114 feet in height 🌳It’s so wide that it was originally thought to be several trees fused together but more recent tests have revealed it is in fact just a single trunk 🌳 And it’s a whopping 1500 years old! 🌳
Another amazing tree is the rainbow eucalyptus, which is as colourful as it sounds 🌳🌈 This tree is multicoloured due to the way the bark grows and changes as it gets older 🌳🌈 When a layer peels off the fresh bark underneath is bright green. As this ages it turns dark green, and then blue/purple, then pink/orange. 🌳🌈 Finally it is a reddish brown colour before it peels off again to reveal the fresh light green underneath again. 🌳🌈 #scienceintheeveryday#cienciasobrelamarcha#climbingtrees#arboldeltule#widesttreeintheworld#greatoutdoors#arboles#spendingtimeinnature#rainbowtree
