Ah, the shore... With the crashing waves washing all of your troubles away for a while 🌊.
At least, we hope our flight frustrations are over for now! Those of you following along on our Stories will have seen that our (bargain) tickets to California were cancelled. A sudden strike by SAS Airlines pilots has already affected over 200,000 passengers and counting... including us. For an alternative flight, we would have to pay five times as much 👀💸 . So it was best to cancel it altogether, claim a refund, and head out to an alternative destination in Europe.
We’re going on a road trip, still: one that is ironically described as "a European answer to California’s Pacific Coast Highway trip"😅.
Let’s see – checking in with you on Stories again soon to reveal the destination! If our flights depart this time, that is 🤔... #FingersCrossed ☘•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

MAD MOMENT ON EYPE BEACH!
Our chocolate Labrador Cadbury (of blessed memory) used to have mad moments when he was overcome with well-being. He used to slip into 5th gear. It was either when he’d had enough exercise to be overwhelmed by endorphins - or when he picked up a special energy about a place or circumstance.
I suppose I was caught up in a bit of both yesterday. I’ve been walking and working outside for several days between Charmouth and Eype... from first light.
Then by yesterday on Eype beach I suddenly felt drunk on all that surf and shingle energy... I walked right to the end of the beach under Thorncombe Beacon, the sun came out and I burst into song in the sunshine.
Decided to photograph myself so I don’t forget how good that moment was and felt warmed enough to sunbathe at the end. It has been really chilly...
Mum’s got a new phone with a better camera so I was papped from every angle on our adventure today 🙄 so many photos that I’m gonna have to do another post later 😂 I got to sit on a proper seat in the pub, & I got a share of the pulled pork chips nom nom nom 🍽

There is something magical about staring out to sea.
Today my son wrote a letter to this girl. We are due to house sit for her beautiful family soon and we haven’t seen her since this photo was taken a whole summer ago.
I could write a million quotes about childhood memories or how the sea moves my soul but nothing comes close to how this photo makes me FEEL about last summer. How it spurs something inside of me to thrust my own children into the sea no matter what the weather. I want them to love it the way I do, I want it to be their happy place.
I can’t wait to head back down Bridport way soon. To explore the beaches, #eype, #charmouth#westbay#lymeregis. We will for the most part be on the beach come rain or shine but please let me know of any things I shouldn’t miss or places I should visit in the area. Restaurants, shops, cafes hit me up!
Calling all quilting enthusiasts. A Quilt Exhibition of work produced by members of the Eype Schoolroom Quilters is taking place on 22nd and 23rd June 2019. The exhibition is being held at St. Peter’s Church in Eype, a hop, skip and a jump from Bridport, Dorset.
Apart from seeing an array of beautiful quilts, some quilts and quilting supplies will be available to buy.
As a side note, Honor Bright, who happened to be a skilled quilter and is a fictional character in The Last Runaway by @tracychevalierwriter, visited Eype! #quilting#quilts#quiltexhibition#eype#bridport#dorset#exhibition#dateforyourdiary#imintheguild
- Werbung bei Nennung - .. Day 4 on the SWCP startet sunny but with a freeeeezing cold wind .. but more enjoying than that we’re the mike stringing along the Laguna and Chesil beach ... how glad I was when the path turned a bit into the backcountry and there was something else to see than gravel beach... after a rest and a lunch at Abby’s House around km 20 the path turned back to the sea and lead through gravel beach around West Brexington .. no chance to avoid to sink nearly to the ankle in loose gravel .. passing another long stretch of gravel-beach I headed to Eype for a night in the “Eype Mouth Country Hotel” After at least 42km that day ... again I met very nice and helpful people and even a breakfast package for an early start for the next morning was no problem .. #southwestcoastpath#lovegreatbritain#hiking#holiday#Eype#hikinggreatbritain #outdoorlovers#backpacking

It has taken us almost 10 years of living here to finally get round to visiting the incredible bluebell display that pops up each year on Eype Down. Very special and great to combine with a coastal walk along the Jurassic Coast. Lovely walk from here to the Anchor at Seatown for a pint in the sun...! #bluebells#dorset#eype#eypedown #lovefordorset#dorsetlife #exploredorset
