Endovenous ablation! A treatment for painful venous insufficiency and varicose veins. The culprit superficial vein (in this case the great saphenous vein) is ablated using a catheter that emits radiofrequency heat. The vein is heated to 120 degrees Celsius and closes to prevent backward flow in the vein. Notice the bright white line running across near the top of the ultrasound screen? That’s the catheter. On the left side, you can see bubbles from the heat. To learn more, visit our website above!
