Sur le troit de Quebec. Bonjour, vieux ami! Ca fait tellement longtemps. I didn’t realize how much I missed this place until coming back with a much older perspective on life. Quebec has been amazing to revisit with family—retracing our roots and visiting my alma mater in one well-fed trip;) Dual citizenship, anyone? #canada#quebec#chateaufrontenac#ancestry#familyreunion#onelifetolive
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world! 🎵
I heard a gentleman playing this song on his saxophone tonight and it's been replaying in my head. Despite our frustrations, pain, and fear, it is such a wonderful world! So lucky to be spending a week here with my mom, enjoying French culture and learning about criminal prosecution. Still praying for my home with the #museumfire, but I know it is in God's control.

Château Frontenac, built 1893. An early example of a Canadian neo-château railway hotels

On our return from the Canadian outback to Montreal we stopped in Quebec and visited its old town for some hours. Old Quebec is a lovely place full of stunning architecture! 👍
The iconic Chateau Frontenac can be seen from almost everywhere. It is indeed a beautiful hotel building. Other than the name suggests it neither is nor ever has been a real castle. 🏰
Like literally everywhere in Canada there were many constructions going on in Quebec, too. Chateau Frontenac was undergoing some heavy construction, too. Seems like everything has to be done within only a couple of weeks. 🤣

Living his best life.
A pint sized bathrobe 🧖🏻♂️ fresh chocolate chip cookies 🍪 and morning sleep-ins until 9am. 💤
Thanks to @fairmontfrontenac for an amazing, kid-friendly weekend. Each kid got their own bathrobe and participated in a treasure hunt through the grandiose hotel.
Driving home now and certain that the memories made will be special ones!
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella. 🎵
The first day in Quebec for my conference! Literally started out on the wrong foot when I tripped, fell, skinned my knee, and sprained my ankle really bad. 🙄 I hobbled the cobblestone streets for coffee, fun, and old churches though. Hoping tomorrow there is less tripping! 😂
