One “bad” day of eating will not derail your progress, just like one “perfect” day of eating won’t automatically get you to your goals. the best thing you can do after an off day is move right along 👉🏽 for some, that means getting back to tracking. for others, it means drinking some extra water, tossing the trigger foods & getting back to your normal routine.

it is O K to let loose, to enjoy a big meal, to have an extra drink; but do not associate shame with your food choices. don’t punish yourself, don’t dwell on those food choices, don’t skip meals or exercise yourself to death. enjoy it, accept it, and then move right along 🚂

Today I was walking through the grocery store, getting some caffeine, and what I saw literally shocked me. So many people are mindlessly walking through the grocery stores. Mindlessly loading up stuff they don’t really need. If you’re really serious about fat loss, you should go into the grocery store like it’s a military operation. You should have a plan, know what you need AND don’t waiver from the plan. Of course, getting some foods that you like makes adhering to your diet better. But at least 80% of your cart should consist out of these 4 groups.

1️⃣ Proteins.
2️⃣ Complex carbs.
3️⃣ Fruits and vegetables.
4️⃣ Healthy fats.

You don’t really need more. Seriously, keep things simple. Don’t load up on candy and chocolate. Of course having some is possible, but don’t load up on it.

If you stimulate a muscle enough that it needs to adapt to make itself stronger, you’re going to
add muscle mass and, of course, get stronger .

I’ve spoken about delayed onset muscular soreness before and mentioned that your muscles
undergo a certain level of micro trauma if they are stressed sufficiently (This can be seen in the
middle picture)- The body then rebuilds the muscle to be bigger and stronger (As seen in the
bottom picture) - This process is often the cause of the soreness you experience post workout .
This won’t make your muscles huge overnight though. It takes years of constant stimulation to
truly see major size and strength differences if you’ve been already working out. If you’re new to
the gym, you’ll probably see faster gains 😊👍🏼 .

Important thing is to always be consistent, be patient and to always push your body to be better
and stronger (Make sure you do it safely and with great form on all exercises) 😊 .

100g of dry wholewheat pasta, Plum tomatoes, 10g of chilli and tomato pesto 🌶️ chilli flakes, a couple of tsp of natural yoghurt, parmesan and 30g of 50% less fat cheese 🧀 ⭐504cals⭐

So earlier lunch was off plan and no idea on calories consumed, but that doesn't mean the day has to be a write off!! I enjoyed my day out earlier and back on it for dinner 💪

With that being said, I just want to drop a note on the brutal cycle that weekend overeating can become if you aren’t mindful.

The way people often times go off the rails on the weekends can be one of the biggest factors preventing them from losing weight.

Many people don't realize the effect a weekend of mindless eating and drinking can have on their fat loss goals. You can be completely locked in during the week, but you truly can negate all that progress in a weekend.

Imagine someone that has a calorie maintenance of 2,000 calories, meaning they won't gain or lose weight if they consume that amount. They average about 1,500 calories per day during the week, which would leave them in a calorie deficit & lead to weight loss.

However, on Fri & Sat, they go crazy and consume about 3,250 calories over those two days, dragging their calorie intake average for the week up to 2,000 calories per day.

Those two days alone are enough to completely halt fat loss for the entire week, even though Mon-Thur (& Sun) were locked in and on point.

Enjoy yourself & especially your weekends, but be aware of the effect they can have on the hard work you put in all week beforehand. Create some kind of plan going in, so you can still enjoy yourself but also continue to progress towards your goals.

When I first started my fitness journey, I had it in my head that “You need to live off Salad”, “No sugar, no carbs, no fat” .
Every time I failed due to lack of knowledge and “falling off the wagon” and continuing to Binge eat

watching my calories has been the biggest game changer with my progress, when I lost my 10st I was never tracking calories at the time, and over the years I’ve always just focussed on eating healthy, cutting down the crap and exercise! Ever since I started using MFP (just to educate myself more on portion control, calories and nutrition) I have seen the biggest progress ever and you have also seen my progress from week to week!

There is people out there saying you don’t need to calorie count! Well I’m sorry I disagree! There is Diets out there labelling food as “free food” (what’s that about 🤔, all you can eat rice, pasta etc), You can have a plate of salad that can have more calories than a Big Mac! True words!, I went to buy a chicken pasta salad pot today, it had over 700 cals! It wasn’t very big either, (people labelling healthy eating as “healthy” don’t mention calories) .
I’ve in the past made recipes from cook books, although healthy food, still very much surprisingly calorie dense. Now I’m not telling you to get obsessed with it, but just to do it to see where you’re going wrong, you will be very surprised, it will help with you’re bad habits, and it will help guide you to adhere to you’re calorie deficit. I say 4 weeks because it takes average 21 days to make new habits, and once you get into the swing of things, you will start to understand portion control a lot more and eyeball calories like never before! Trust the process people! Be smart with you’re calories, be honest, and make sure you eat a balanced diet including nutrient dense low calories foods which you can pack out you’re plate with, along with some healthy fats, and proteins. But also in the mean time still include the foods you class as “treats” or “cheat meals” to keep you sane and from going on a binge because you’re following a diet telling you not to eat the foods you crave and enjoy! As long as it’s all in within you’re calories/goals! 💯

Focus mainly on weekly calories, if you struggle to do it daily, it’s much easier, but just do what suits you! Just enjoy the education! 💯😊

My mum and I shared some Salted chilli chicken and chips and me and my sister shared dinky donuts 🥯

And I had a coffee ☕

This was not a planned day out, just spur of the moment type of thing and I was starving and enjoyed an 'off plan' lunch... Its not bad food, its just food!!! Focusing on lifestyle changes, enjoying life and not worrying about counting everything!! I was actually shocked seeing this photo thinking I look really quite thin, even with 3 layers on!

With this being Memorial Day weekend, odds are you just might have a cookout or two on tap for the weekend.

With that being said, I just want to drop a note on the brutal cycle that weekend overeating can become if you aren’t mindful.

The way people often times go off the rails on the weekends can be one of the biggest factors preventing them from losing weight.
-
Many people don't realize the effect a weekend of mindless eating and drinking can have on their fat loss goals. You can be completely locked in during the week, but you truly can negate all that progress in a weekend.
-
Imagine someone that has a calorie maintenance of 2,000 calories, meaning they won't gain or lose weight if they consume that amount. They average about 1,500 calories per day during the week, which would leave them in a calorie deficit & lead to weight loss.

However, on Fri & Sat, they go crazy and consume about 3,250 calories over those two days, dragging their calorie intake average for the week up to 2,000 calories per day.
-
Those two days alone are enough to completely halt fat loss for the entire week, even though Mon-Thur (& Sun) were locked in and on point.
-
Enjoy yourself & especially your weekends, but be aware of the effect they can have on the hard work you put in all week beforehand. Create some kind of plan going in, so you can still enjoy yourself but also continue to progress towards your goals.

We have prawn and cous cous summer salad (in here is cucumber spring onion spinach, water cress and some garlic granules plus fat free vinaigrette) prawns are Tesco Chilli and coriander and are (0.5) syn per pack. I had half the pack but will count to be safe. I also had a strawberry muller (1) with chopped up kiwi in as it was going soft!!

Or maybe they'll order dessert with dinner and justify it because they worked out that day. ___________________ The TRUTH ✅: What you do MOST of the time is far more important than what you do SOME of the time. - If you eat a few too many calories on occasion but stay on point most of the time, you're not going to destroy all of your progress. With this being Memorial Day weekend, odds are you just might have a cookout or two on tap for the weekend.

With that being said, I just want to drop a note on the brutal cycle that weekend overeating can become if you aren’t mindful.
-
The way people often times go off the rails on the weekends can be one of the biggest factors preventing them from losing weight.
-
Many people don't realize the effect a weekend of mindless eating and drinking can have on their fat loss goals. You can be completely locked in during the week, but you truly can negate all that progress in a weekend.
-
Imagine someone that has a calorie maintenance of 2,000 calories, meaning they won't gain or lose weight if they consume that amount. They average about 1,500 calories per day during the week, which would leave them in a calorie deficit & lead to weight loss.
-
However, on Fri & Sat, they go crazy and consume about 3,250 calories over those two days, dragging their calorie intake average for the week up to 2,000 calories per day.
-
Those two days alone are enough to completely halt fat loss for the entire week, even though Mon-Thur (& Sun) were locked in and on point.
-

OVEREATING ON THE WEEKENDS by @grantgirsky - With this being Memorial Day weekend, odds are you just might have a cookout or two on tap for the weekend. - With that being said, I just want to drop a note on the brutal cycle that weekend overeating can become if you aren’t mindful. - The way people often times go off the rails on the weekends can be one of the biggest factors preventing them from losing weight. - Many people don't realize the effect a weekend of mindless eating and drinking can have on their fat loss goals. You can be completely locked in during the week, but you truly can negate all that progress in a weekend. - Imagine someone that has a calorie maintenance of 2,000 calories, meaning they won't gain or lose weight if they consume that amount. They average about 1,500 calories per day during the week, which would leave them in a calorie deficit & lead to weight loss. - However, on Fri & Sat, they go crazy and consume about 3,250 calories over those two days, dragging their calorie intake average for the week up to 2,000 calories per day. - Those two days alone are enough to completely halt fat loss for the entire week, even though Mon-Thur (& Sun) were locked in and on point. - Enjoy yourself & especially your weekends, but be aware of the effect they can have on the hard work you put in all week beforehand.
