Happy 136th Birthday Brooklyn Bridge! the incredible landmark. •••
On May 24, 1883, the #BrooklynBridge was officially opened, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn for the 1st time. Designed by engineer John A. Roebling, the 1,595-foot bridge was the largest suspension bridge built to that date, and was nicknamed the “Eight wonder of the World.”
Hour 7! 🌆 6:05 am on the @24hourproject in #NewYork. "The Film Photographer" by @ktrap as part of the #24hourproject#24hr19#24hr19_NewYork. Today, myself along with over 4,500 other photographers from 100+ countries are highlighting this year's global charitable focus to support four NGOs working for women's human rights: @She_Has_Hope (Uganda) @GES_Mujer (Mexico) @SacredValleyHealth (Peru) @Atena_ngo (Iran).
We're shooting non-stop for 24 hours, sharing one photo per hour, "documenting humanity to make a difference." This year I’m gathering pledges per hour for every hour I complete of the challenge, to benefit @she_has_hope.
As of now I’m up to $275/hour! So if I’m able to stay awake and complete the challenge, we will raise $6600 for @she_has_hope in our response to the human trafficking crisis! Never too late to join in! If you want to support, just write in your pledge amount per hour in the comments. My goal is $350/Hour. Thank you! 💙🌟🗽🙏
Ayer el puente de Brooklyn cumplió 136 años! 🎉🎉
I cried during the last episode of @BroadCity. Yeah, I said it. So while in New York I had to find the spot where @abbijacobson and @ilana signed the #BrooklynBridge which took a minute. And I put a WE ARE ALL HOMELESS sticker next to their signatures! Worlds collide for two passions of mine: creativity (Abbi and Ilana are two huge inspos!) and my homeless sign project (one of the ways I express my creativity). Not sure life is complete yet, but closer!! <3
#weareallhomeless#signsofhumanity#whatishome#lifegoals#creativity oh and @lizmartinelli_ and I were going to recreate the goodbye scene but that will have to be next trip!
Today it’s going to be real summer weather in Brooklyn with a high of around 87 degrees Fahrenheit! I get excited for hot weather, so I’m headed to Rockaway beach to soak in the sun. Hope your enjoying the long weekend!
We saw so many things yesterday, and I have fallen in love fast with this crazy, anything goes city. Some of the highlights were : the view from the Brooklyn bridge, the best thin crust pizza, climbing in central park, seeing all the neighborhoods, and spending time with an old friend ! . .
Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. 🙃
Travel Tip: Consider hop on/off bus for sightseeing (especially in New York City) 🚎
Follow me for travel tips on Tuesdays!
There’s so many things to see and do in NYC.
We tried 3 different methods of getting around:
1.) drive a car
3.) hop on/off bus.
By far, our favorite was the hop on/off bus. It was so very relaxing to just sit on the top deck and listen to the tour guide providing interesting facts about the city. 🚎
Didn’t have to worry about traffic, directions, or parking. It was sooo unbelievably relaxing. The busses came every 5-7 minutes so it was never a long wait.
On the lower deck, it’s air-conditioned but the weather was perfect in early October and you get a much better view on top. ☀️
The worse method for us was driving in the city. Worse traffic I’ve ever encountered....even at midnight on a Wednesday night. 😫 (And I thought Chicago had bad traffic, not compared to NYC). And parking fees are crazy expensive. 🚥
We used Big Bus as one of our attractions for something similar to Citypass. Can’t remember the name right now but I’ll write about it in next week’s Travel Tip Tuesday because it was such a great deal and easy to use. Hopefully I’ll remember the name by then. Ha!
Happy travels. 🙃

Sinto o vento do mar soprar em meu rosto
DEUS OBRIGADA POR TUDO🙏🏾 #brooklynbridge#pumafenty#calvinklein#vidadebacana
