There's a really specific kind of nervous before actors take the stage in something you've written. A kind of helpless-excited-stomach clencher nervous.
One of my aunts used to manage the distribution of cargo in airplanes, trying to make them balance. She'd be on tenterhooks until one of her planes touched down safely.
They smashed it of course.
