Physically my body is in better shape than it’s been in at least 4yrs. Mentally I am so much happier. Selfcare is something I’ve personally struggled with making time for since have kids.

Dropping water weight, reducing inflammation and minimising bloating are all some positives I’ve been experiencing and sharing on my stories recently.
Every single time I mention it though, I receive an influx of people desperate to know what I’ve been doing differently. My answer isn’t simple 🤔
▪️I’ve managed to consistently cut down on fibre. Filling up on high volumes of low calorie veggies isn’t the way to feel energised.
▪️ Hit my macros. I under-eat by default, so consistently hitting my targets has meant my body has been adequately fueled and hasn’t perceived as much dietary stress.
▪️Cut back on the things that I stubbornly pretend don’t upset my digestion - chewing gum, diet sodas, Brussel sprouts and dairy. I love you; you don’t love me ✋🏻 We all have our vices, but nothing changes if nothing changes. Are you really eating in a way that makes you feel good?
▪️ Instagram is a really happening place come 9pm at night, but it’s not worth a short or restless nights sleep. I’m in bed by 8:30pm and have been prioritising 7.5-8 hours sleep a night.
▪️ I’ve consistently been following my training program by @kylielgilbert - we’ve cut out HIIT and I’m periodising strength and intensity properly, and ensuring my body is recovering between sessions.
3️⃣ MENTAL HEALTH:
▪️ Every day I force myself to meditate and do affirmations. I’m taking a bath 3x a week. I don’t love these things, they seem tedious and sometimes I feel like an idiot doing them - but this stuff pays off. My anxiety and depression have been more manageable, I’m being kinder to myself and that alone has alleviated a ton of mental stress.
▪️ Alleviating stressors and changing habits doesn’t happen overnight. It’s been weeks of me whole-heartedly and consistently trying each day to treat myself better. Some days I still get bloated, hold water or feel lower in energy - that doesn’t mean I give up or push the f*ck it button. I want to feel good for the long run - so I’m not chasing an easy fix ✊🏻
